Claiming you\u2019re an expert, when you\u2019ve seen something done once is bad enough (you don\u2019t think they\u2019ll eventually notice?) <\/p>\n<p><strong>I heard the kicker this afternoon. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A friend, of a friend (and honestly, I wish it wasn\u2019t even that close a connection) decided that it would be a great idea to change his name. <\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll mention here that this person has no intention of changing their name legally. They just figured, new city, new start, hey let\u2019s use a new name.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m a bit envious, there are days I\u2019d love to pretend I\u2019m someone else but for giggles, let\u2019s go over the pitfalls of this option. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You\u2019re at the interview, they call your &#8216;name&#8217; and you forget it&#8217;s you.<\/li>\n<li>They like you and call your references&#8230; who have no idea about your new identity. (yeah seriously, try explaining that one &#8211; I interviewed for a job, but they think my name is&#8230; )<\/li>\n<li>Your new name won\u2019t match any of your ID.
